Longstone IT launches a new home for practical Devon business IT advice

23 June 2026

Welcome to the new Longstone IT website: a practical place for Devon businesses to find clear, useful thinking about the technology they rely on every day.

Longstone IT is based in Kingsbridge and supports organisations across Devon with calm, hands-on IT services that keep teams working, protected and prepared. This first blog post introduces the main topics we will cover here, and it has been added across each of our blog categories so it can act as a useful starting point wherever you begin.

The new website has been built by Stormy Studios to make Longstone IT’s services easier to browse, with dedicated areas for support, security, cloud tools, Microsoft 365 and continuity planning.

What has improved on the new website

This rebuild is more than a visual refresh. Compared with the previous website, the new Longstone IT site has been rebuilt around the same idea that guides the company’s IT support: keep things clear, secure, useful and easy to manage.

  • Security: the site now sits behind Cloudflare, direct origin access is restricted, forms are protected with Cloudflare Turnstile, public WordPress exposure has been reduced and the login area is better protected.
  • Accessibility: the new layout uses clearer navigation, readable content sections, stronger page structure, better form labels and a responsive design that is easier to use across desktop and mobile.
  • SEO: service pages, category pages, metadata, redirects, structured data, XML sitemaps and AI-readable content have been tightened so people and search engines can understand the site more easily.
  • Speed: pages use caching, minified assets, local fonts, optimised images and a lighter front-end approach so visitors can get to the information they need quickly.
  • Reduced dependencies: the new site avoids the heavier legacy page-builder, slider, tracking and commerce layers that were present in the old setup, making the website simpler to maintain and less exposed to unnecessary plugin risk.

The result is a cleaner, faster and more focused website with a fresher look and feel. It should be easier for Devon businesses to browse Longstone IT’s services, understand where to start and find practical guidance without wading through unnecessary complexity.

IT support that keeps Devon teams moving

Our IT Support articles will focus on the day-to-day things that make work easier: responsive helpdesk support, device issues, supplier coordination, network problems and practical advice for reducing recurring IT frustration.

For many businesses, good support is not about making technology feel complicated. It is about having someone who understands the setup, communicates clearly and gets people back to work without fuss.

Cyber security with a practical edge

The Cyber Security category will cover sensible protection for real businesses, including account security, phishing awareness, multi-factor authentication, software updates, access control and the habits that reduce risk without overwhelming your team.

Devon businesses need security that matches how they actually work. We will keep the advice grounded, useful and focused on decisions that make a measurable difference.

Cloud services that make work more flexible

In Cloud Services, we will look at how businesses can use cloud systems to improve access, collaboration and resilience. Expect guidance on migrations, hosted systems, storage, permissions and choosing tools that fit the way your team operates.

Cloud technology should make the working day smoother, not introduce a new layer of confusion. The right setup can help staff work securely from the office, at home or out on the road.

Making Microsoft 365 work properly

Microsoft 365 is often central to a business, but many organisations only use a fraction of what is available. This category will explore email, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, licensing, user management and security settings in plain English.

Small improvements to Microsoft 365 can save time, reduce duplicated files and make collaboration feel much more organised.

Business continuity before it is urgent

The Business Continuity category will help businesses think ahead. We will cover backups, recovery planning, downtime reduction, hardware failure, account access and the checks that help your team keep working when something unexpected happens.

Continuity planning is easiest when it is done before pressure arrives. A little preparation now can protect a lot of time, data and customer confidence later.
